SnapNews is a free iOS app that allows you to find a New York Times article online with a scanned image of its print counterpart. It uses optical character recognition to extract text from an image. It then uses this text to search for articles using The New York Times API.
Single line headlines can be difficult to crop. You can try scanning the lead paragraph of the article instead. There isn’t a good solution to this at the moment. I am looking into way to improve the scanning experience and remove the need to crop an article at all.
SnapNews does not require a sign in and therefore does not store any information about you.
